The Surgical Sheet
Surgery held its own menu seat at Steeplechase Veterinary Hospital, and orthopedic surgery held a page of its own beside it; this sheet reads what the record kept of the operating side of the practice.

Most veterinary websites file surgery as one line in a services list. This practice gave it two seats. Under the WordPress-era navigation, surgery appears twice in the site's own structure: once inside the services menu beside boarding and grooming, and again as a standalone page titled simply orthopedic surgery, elevated out of the menu hierarchy entirely.
What the dossier keeps
The services menu paired a general surgery page with a dedicated orthopedic page, a pairing that says the practice considered bone and joint work its own discipline rather than a line item. In a single-doctor-founded hospital that is a deliberate claim: orthopedic pages are written by practices that want referrers and clients to know the table, the implants and the caseload exist.
The record keeps the page's place more clearly than its full text, but its neighbours in the menu give the context: surgery sat beside diagnostic tools, pharmacy and senior care under a medical heading, which places it inside the clinical core of the practice rather than beside the convenience services.
Two doors into the same room
The site ran two parallel menus, one under services and one under medical, and surgery appears in both. The duplication is not sloppiness; it reflects how clients actually arrive, some through the door marked services and some through the door marked medical. The orthopedic page, by contrast, sat alone, reachable by its own name rather than nested inside either list.
What orthopedic work meant here
Public listings of the practice name the orthopedic work directly: cruciate repairs by TTA and MMP, the tibial procedures a general hospital only lists when it actually performs them. A standalone orthopedic page in a small-animal hospital signals exactly that, the cases that decide whether a practice refers out or keeps surgery in-house. The page's existence in the navigation, kept across captures, marks the practice as one that held that work inside its own walls during the years the site was live.
What the menu does not say
The record keeps the surgical pages' seats in the menu, not their instruments. Whether the suite ran electrocautery or laser, which cruciate technique the orthopedic page recommended, what the anesthesia protocol promised: the captures keep the page addresses and leave the clinical text unevenly preserved. The file marks the absence rather than guessing at it, because a dossier that invents its exhibits stops being a file.
What the structure does prove is sequencing. Surgery, diagnostics and pharmacy sit adjacent in the medical menu, which is the order a surgical case actually moves through the building: diagnosed on the bench, operated on the table, medicated on the way out. Menu adjacency is the only floor plan the record kept, and the file reads it as one.
How the file reads it
The surgical pages outlasted the homepage redesigns that came after them. When the site moved from the old VetHost structure to WordPress, surgery kept its seat in both menu systems and gained the orthopedic standalone. That is the pattern of a service the practice built its identity around rather than a line it kept for completeness.
The sheet files the finding simply: surgery was not a bullet point here. It was a section of the building with its own address in the menu, and the record kept the address even where it dropped the furnishings.
The file closes the surgical sheet where the record leaves it: a menu seat in both systems, a standalone orthopedic page beside them, and the building's floor plan legible in the adjacency. The instrument list is outside the captures; the suite's place in the practice's identity is not.
