The Diagnostics Sheet

In the WordPress-era navigation, three pages sit shoulder to shoulder under the medical heading: diagnostic tools, dental care and pharmacy. The grouping is the practice's own, and it is a telling one. This is the diagnostic bench of the file: the part of the building where symptoms were turned into numbers, films and labelled bottles.

What the dossier keeps

Diagnostic tools earned its own menu entry rather than a paragraph inside another page. For a companion-animal hospital that implies the usual bench of in-house laboratory work, imaging and monitoring equipment, the machinery that lets a practice answer a sick-pet visit the same day instead of sending samples away and waiting.

Dental care sits beside it as its own page, not as a line under surgery. That separation matters in the record: practices that page their dentistry separately are usually practices that scale and polish under anesthesia and radiograph the mouth, rather than practices that squeeze dental work between appointments.

The pharmacy at the end of the bench

The pharmacy page closes the trio. An in-house pharmacy is the quiet indicator of a full-service practice: the diagnosis made on the bench could be dispensed on the way out, without a second stop. Its seat in the same menu tier as diagnostics and dental places it inside the clinical offer, not the retail one.

The same three pages also existed under the services menu, which duplicated most of the medical tree for clients who entered the site through a different door. The record kept both copies, and the file keeps the duplication as evidence of how the practice organised its own front of house.

A bench that grew

The VetHost-era site had already promised a services page and a veterinary resources section; the WordPress build expanded the promise into named diagnostic pages. The file reads that expansion as the practice's middle years on paper: the equipment list growing until it needed its own menu.

The senior end of the bench

The same medical menu also carried senior care, and it belongs on this sheet because senior work is where a diagnostic bench earns its keep. Older patients are the ones whose same-day lab values change the plan: the kidney numbers that adjust an anesthetic, the thyroid result that explains the weight. That the practice paged senior care beside its diagnostic tools rather than beside boarding is its own small clinical statement.

The file also keeps the earlier promise. The VetHost-era services page and the veterinary resources section already implied a practice that answered its own workups; the WordPress menu simply gave each piece of the bench a door of its own. Growth in a website's navigation is the closest thing to an equipment invoice the archive preserves.

How the file reads it

Diagnostics, dental and pharmacy are the unglamorous pages of a hospital site, the ones no practice builds for show. Their presence across both menu systems and across the years of captures is the record of a practice that ran its own workups, cleaned its own teeth and stocked its own shelves. The bench held.

The file closes the bench where the record leaves it: three menu seats kept across a redesign, named plainly enough that no client could miss what the hospital did in-house. The equipment list itself is outside the captures; the bench's place in the practice's own structure is not.
