The Wider Bench

Between the founder at the top and the associate at the bottom, the record keeps a middle bench. The 2017 team list names Dr. Kristin Harris beside the other two doctors, with her own page and her own photograph dated 2015 in the site's uploads. A decade earlier, the 2007 homepage names two more people the team page would never list under /team/ at all: Dr. Ashley Owens and Turtle Jo Amiri-Owens, RVT, the pair running the Animal Behavior Center.

What the dossier keeps

Dr. Harris is the record's clearest middle arrival. Her portrait joins the uploads in 2015, two years after the founder's, and her page sits in the same /team/ directory as the founder and the associate. The file reads her as the practice's second medical name, the doctor who turned the founder's roster into a team.

The behaviour pair belong to an earlier layer. The 2007 homepage gives the Animal Behavior Center its own mission statement and its own phone line, 770-630-2061, separate from the hospital's 678-208-2200. Dr. Owens handled behaviour; Turtle Jo Amiri-Owens, listed with the RVT credential, handled training and consultations. They are named on the founding homepage and absent from the later /team/ directory, which the file reads as the centre's gradual folding into the hospital's public face rather than proof of their departure.

The bench behind the names

The old site also kept a page called meet our team beside clinic hours, and the later one kept our team under about. Both pages existed to hold the people the record otherwise leaves unnamed: reception, technicians, kennel and salon staff, the hands that made a full-service hospital full-service. The captures keep the pages' seats in the menus even where the individual names did not survive.

The plugin that held them

The later site did not build its team page by hand. The archive kept the traces of a dedicated meet-the-team plugin in the site's file structure, a tool that turns a staff list into uniform portrait cards, which is why every doctor's photograph in the uploads lands at the same seventy-pixel square. The record keeps even the choice of plugin as evidence: the practice wanted the bench presented as a bench, faces in a row.

The earlier site did the same work differently, a single meet our team page beside clinic hours, all the faces on one sheet. Two tools, one instinct, kept across the redesign: the practice believed the people were part of the directions, worth their own menu seat beside the map and the hours.

How the file reads it

A dossier's doctor section is usually a list of one. Here it is a bench: a founder, a second medical doctor mid-decade, an associate with a research doctorate late in the record, and a behaviour pair who ran a second front desk on a second phone line. The file keeps them together because the site kept them together, in a menu the practice chose to build around names.

The file closes the bench where the record leaves it: a plugin's seventy-pixel portraits on one side, a meet our team page on the other, and between them the names the site chose to publish. The unlisted staff stay unnamed because the record kept them that way.
