Steeplechase Veterinary Hospital offers pet boarding inside of our air-conditioned Cumming, GA facility that is supervised by a veterinarian.  Our routine care for dogs includes outside walks on a leash three times per day, fresh food, water, and bedding twice per day, and periodic supervised playtime.  We are happy to accommodate any special needs your pet may have, such as administering medication, special diets, or a unique feeding schedule.  We can also arrange for a fresh bath and for grooming before you pick up your pet.  

For those who wish to complete our boarding drop-off form in advance, it is available in two formats: fill-in/email or print/fill-out.  If you are a new client, we request that you also complete a New Client Registration Form so we may serve you better.

For all dogs boarded at Steeplechase Veterinary Hospital, we require (1) they are up to date on their rabies and  Distemper/Parvo vaccinations and (2) they are receiving heartworm medication regulary or have been dewormed within three months.  We also strongly recommend that dogs are current on their Bordatella (kennel cough) vaccination; if your pet is not, we require you to sign a Liability Release covering the risk to your un-vaccinated dog.

For cats, we require them to be up to date on their upper respiratory series (FVRCP).

At the time of drop-off,  we will request you to sign a Consent Form to address the unlikely event of your pet becoming ill or injured while staying with us.  In such a situation,  x-rays, blood tests and other diagnostic procedures may be recommended.  We will call you at the telehone numbers provided during drop-off to discuss any such needs and their cost prior to treatment.  In the event of a life-threatening condition, we will stabilize your pet and call you as soon as possible.

We are a flea- and tick-free environment.  If we see fleas or ticks on your pet, we will apply treatment at the owner's expense.

Since the Hospital is closed on Sundays and major holidays, pets are not normally discharged on those days.  However we often can schedule a staff member to be present at a specified time between 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm, if arrangements can be made no later than during drop-off.  There is an additional charge for this service.
